Face Data and Photo Processing

When you use StyleShare AI's hairstyle transformation features, you may upload photos containing your face. Here's exactly how we handle this sensitive information:

What We Collect

We collect photos you choose to upload from your device's photo library that show your face and hair. These photos are:

• Automatically resized to 1024 pixels on the longest side to optimize processing
• Compressed to JPEG format for efficient transmission
• Processed entirely on a temporary, transient basis
• Never stored permanently on our servers

How We Use Your Photos

Your photos are processed by Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash AI model via Google's Generative Language API to generate realistic visualizations of how different hairstyles and hair colors would look on you. This processing happens in real-time through an AI image transformation process that:

• Analyzes your uploaded photo
• Applies the hairstyle or color transformation you selected
• Generates a new image showing the transformation
• Returns the result to your device
• Completes in approximately 10-30 seconds

Data Sharing with Google

Your photos are securely transmitted to Google LLC's Generative Language API for AI processing. The transmission uses:

• Secure HTTPS/TLS encryption - Industry-standard encryption protects your photos in transit
• Base64 encoding - Images are encoded as text data for secure transmission
• Google's enterprise-grade infrastructure - Processing occurs on Google Cloud's secure servers

According to Google's Generative AI Service Terms, content you submit through the API is:

• Processed transiently for your requested transformation only
• Not used to train or improve Google's AI models
• Not retained after processing is complete
• Subject to Google's security and privacy standards

No Other Third-Party Sharing

We do not share your photos with any other third parties beyond Google's API service. We do not:

• Sell or rent your photos to advertisers or data brokers
• Use your photos for marketing or promotional purposes
• Share your photos with analytics companies
• Store your photos on our servers or databases
• Allow any other services to access your photos

Data Storage and Retention

Your Device:

• Original photos remain in your photo library under your complete control
• Generated transformation images are saved only to your device's local storage
• You can delete generated images at any time from your photo library

During Processing:

• Photos exist in temporary device memory only during the transformation (10-30 seconds)
• Photos are transmitted to Google's API and immediately processed
• No copies are stored on our servers at any point

After Processing:

• Your original photo is never retained by us or Google
• Generated transformation results are delivered directly to your device
• All temporary data is immediately discarded

Retention Period: Zero. We do not retain your photos after processing is complete. Google processes and discards images according to their API terms. There is no permanent storage of face data anywhere in our system.

What We Don't Do

StyleShare AI does NOT:

• Perform facial recognition or biometric authentication
• Create face templates, facial signatures, or biometric identifiers
• Extract or store biometric data from your photos
• Analyze faces for demographic information (age, gender, ethnicity, etc.)
• Track individuals across photos or sessions
• Use facial data for advertising or user profiling
• Build databases of faces or facial features
• Compare your face to other users or databases

Your Control

You have complete control over your photos:

• You choose which photos to upload - we never access your library without permission
• You can delete generated images from your device anytime
• You can stop using the service at any time without consequence
• No data persists after you delete generated images from your device
• No account required - we don't track your identity or usage patterns

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• HTTPS/TLS 1.2+ encryption for all data in transit
• Google Cloud's security infrastructure for processing
• No permanent storage means no long-term security risks
• No user accounts or passwords to be compromised
• Minimal data collection reduces potential exposure

Since we do not store photos or personal information, there is no data to delete from our servers. However, any generated images would be stored only on the child's device and can be deleted from the device's photo library at any time.
